The Prasov lab won the Shaffer Prize from the GRF for 2021 grant entitled, "Elucidating the Role of a Novel Closure Associated Gene in Eye Development and Disease" based on the work of Bill Presley and Su Qing Wang. Thanks to the Glaucoma Research Foundation for this wonderful recognition.

Joshua Stein and Lev Prasov received the Epstein Award from the ARVO Foundation for their collaborative work on "Using Big Data and Familial Studies to Define Novel Glaucoma Genes", which will help propell Bill Presley's thesis work on novel glaucoma gene discovery.

The Prasov Lab, together with collaborators Jason Miller and Kapil Bharti labs, received a 3-year New Investigator in Macular Degeneration grant to explore "The role of MYRF in transcriptional regulation of retinal pigment epithelial maintenance." We will apply knowledge learned from the developmental role of the MYRF transcription factor to define its function in RPE maintenance and ability to protect against AMD-relevant stressors.
