Congrats to Marianna! We enjoyed her visit in an Ann Arbor for our project on the "Genetics of Nanophthalmos in Brazil". The collaborative partnership grant supports our joint efforts to define the genetic basis of nanophthalmos in the Brazilian populations, and better identify genotype-phenotype correlations. Prasov lab wins the Shaffer Prize from the Glaucoma Research Foundation for best 2021 Research Grant

The Prasov lab won the Shaffer Prize from the GRF for 2021 grant entitled, "Elucidating the Role of a Novel Closure Associated Gene in Eye Development and Disease" based on the work of Bill Presley and Su Qing Wang. Thanks to the Glaucoma Research Foundation for this wonderful recognition.

The Prasov Lab, together with collaborators Jason Miller and Kapil Bharti labs, received a 3-year New Investigator in Macular Degeneration grant to explore "The role of MYRF in transcriptional regulation of retinal pigment epithelial maintenance." We will apply knowledge learned from the developmental role of the MYRF transcription factor to define its function in RPE maintenance and ability to protect against AMD-relevant stressors.
