Wadhams Family Center for Children's Vision
Mission: To improve children’s vision through comprehensive multidisciplinary clinical care and through innovative research.
Funded through a generous gift from Timothy and Laurie Wadhams through the Wadhams Family Foundation [Press release], the Wadhams Family Center for Children's Vision seeks to provide patient-centric integrated care with a multidisciplinary team for the spectrum of childhood eye disorders and help to improve care through research discovery.
Aims of the center are:
1) To establish an integrated multisubspecialty clinic for the spectrum of pediatric subspecialty care.
2) To develop a clinical research and biobanking infrastracture to leverage patient clinical, genetic data, and biospecimens for new discoveries.
3) To support basic science research into genetic eye disease for new gene discovery, disease modeling, and therapeutic development.
4) To support a patient centered fund to improve access for care, genetic testing, and low vision devices for pediatric patients.
